What is the difference between 'altogether' and 'all together'?

All together means that in a group all the members are doing a particular activity together e.g.The members of the choir are singing all together.
However altogether means taken totally or wholly e.g. Altogether the program was very good.

all together can refer to a bunch of people grouped at the same time. and alltogether can be used to summarize concepts, points and ideas.
