TOPIC: While v/s Whilst

While v/s Whilst 10 years 3 months ago #300

A book I read recently that made use of the word 'Whilst'... Is there a particular way of using this word or could it be used normally as well?

While is much more commonly used than whilst. You will almost never hear the word whilst spoken in American English, but in British English it is still occasionally used.

The only difference is that whilst is used in old English and while is used in Modern English. Hence, Britishers occasionally prefer whilst while writing..;-)
