As a teacher, dealing with students and their parents is one of the major key responsibilities that you've to handle. It is a known fact that parents are the first and ongoing educators as well as teachers of their own children. Therefore, almost every school throughout the globe ensures there is a close contact between its school's teachers and parents of the students. That's when you as the teacher are expected to converse with parents and keep them involved in their child's school life.

Conversing with parents:

It is a daunting task to handle 65+ students' parents at a go. However, if you're sure about your English communication skills dealing with so many parents wouldn't be as difficult as it presently seems. Let's take a conversational example that should clear your language doubts and help you handle situations like these, just like a pro.

Conversational Example when asking for contributions from parents :

Situation- Your school has tied up with an NGO for which you people are hosting an exhibition. This event has handcrafted arts and cards made by the under-privileged children of the organization. Hence, the principal has asked you to inform the parents to join the initiative and purchase some of the items, supporting the cause. How should you ideally go about inviting the parents to contribute to the social event?

Teacher- Good morning parents. Thank you all for taking out some time from your busy schedule.

Parents- Good morning.

Teacher- So, I'm sure your children must have informed you about the social event we are organizing along with C.R.Y, the NGO for underprivileged children.

Parents- Yes.

Teacher- Great! So, on behalf of the principal, I would like to invite all of you along with your near and dear ones to join the initiative and contribute by purchasing some of the products that are made from scratch by these little artists.

Sita (One parent) - We will be more than glad to join in the good work and contribute. I will certainly get a handful of my friends to join as well.

Teacher- Yes, of course. The event is going to be held on the 18th of January, which is this Saturday. Be sure to join us and give back to society, especially, when you know you're contributing towards these little kids who've got barely anything.

John (Another parent) – We will surely come. In addition, if you need any help otherwise, I and my wife are more than happy to assist.

Teacher- So nice to know. However, the only help we need from you people for now is to contribute as much as possible for the betterment of these children. Come in by 4 pm and make sure to have a good time.
