Tips on How to Talk to Strangers

Here are some ways that can be followed while talking to the strangers.
The ways are as follows:

  1. Since you don’t know the person, the person may not talk to you. So there is a possibility of being rejected. You should be prepared for that rejection.
  1. Many people don’t walk up and talk to a stranger because they fear they would be rejected. But most of them would really like to talk with you but they expect you to approach first and start the conversation.
  1. Do not wait for others to start a conversation. If you feel a strong urge to talk with someone, go ahead and start the conversation. You should have confidence in your voice. You should sound very positive. One of the most important things is you should be able to speak fluently.
  1. It is very important to start your conversation with a good topic. You can simply say Hi and wait for the stranger’s response. You can share an incident that both of you are experiencing. Suppose both of you are at the theater. Both of you have just watched a movie and the movie is really bad! So you can start your conversation by sharing your experience which you had just now. So start your conversation or discussion by asking questions or simply making statements.
  1. Ask the stranger significant questions about work life, personal life, hobbies. It is better not to discuss negative or controversial topics.
  1. It is always wise to listen carefully before you talk. So try to listen more than you talk.
  1. If you feel that you are getting uninterested stop the topic immediately and move on to the next topic.
  1. Your body language should be positive enough for strangers to talk with you.
